The government's budget is for the IMF, not the people
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq has said that the budget presented by the government of Pakistan is not for the peoples of Pakistan but for the IMF. Three thousand four hundred billion rupees were spent on interest payments in the budget. Only 3% was set aside for education and health. Addressing the inaugural function of the Institute of Regional Studies in Peshawar on Saturday, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq said that we still look to the World Bank, Europe and IMF for improvement in the economy. Islam has given the agenda of economy. But not acting on it. Only by following the teachings of Islam will our problems be solved. Our country is not short of resources. Wheat Pakistan ranks fifth and sixth in the world in rice, sugarcane and milk.
